In April 2014, Huatong Flooring won the bid for the Hangzhou Kerry Project (10,000 square meters of calcium sulfate flooring)
Hangzhou Kerry Organization covers a total area of about 101 acres, with Yan'an Road to the east, Changshou Road to the west, Haier Lane to the north, Qingchun Road to the south, and West Lake. In the future, it will plan to develop a multi-purpose integrated property, including hotels, offices, apartments and commercial functions, and will be built into a landmark fashion leisure institution in Hangzhou.
1 Project Introduction
The developer is Kerry Properties Hangzhou Co., Ltd. In July 2005, Hong Kong Kerry Group acquired the land use rights of the original site of Zhejiang Hubin Campus for RMB 2.46 billion, and will develop a high-quality commercial institution on this land, named Hangzhou Kerry Organization, designed by the famous American KPF Architects.
Kerry Organization is adjacent to Yan'an Road to the east, Changshou Road to the west, Haier Lane to the north, and Qingchun Road to the south, with a total area of 101 acres. In the future, it will become a comprehensive consumer and leisure hall with a total development scale of about 276,000 square meters.
On the side of Changshou Road, a 50,000-square-meter Shangri-La Hotel and banquet hall will be built. The tower of the hotel is 85 meters high, more than ten meters higher than the "West Lake High-rise" that was demolished by blasting.
On the side of Yan'an Road, high-end office buildings and shopping institutions will be built, and near Hai'er Lane are shopping malls and apartment-style hotels; all buildings surround a square for citizens to gather and relax. The square covers an area of 10,000 square meters and adopts a traditional Chinese garden design, which is integrated with the provincial cultural relic "Red Building" in the southeast corner of the plot.
At the same time, a three-story underground space of 100,000 square meters is planned to be built, connecting to the Fengqi Road Station of the planned Metro Line 1 along the north-south direction. The underground shopping mall of Kerry Organization is connected to the underground commercial area of the subway, and is equipped with a large parking lot, which is expected to alleviate the parking problem on Yan'an Road. In order to show respect for Hangzhou's history and culture, the designers of KPF in the United States use traditional Chinese building materials and colors. The building colors are mainly dark gray and gray. The floor design of Shangri-La Hotel is similar to the pagoda structure.
"Hangzhou Kerry Organization" introduces a spacious public square at the location of the project organization. The square is adjacent to Yan'an Road in the east and Changshou Road in the west. It is located in a prosperous area of the city. The design uses the surrounding buildings to isolate the noise of the downtown area, creating a comfortable and quiet space environment for citizens. At the same time, it draws on the method of organically connecting artificial buildings and natural landscapes at different levels in Chinese garden design. Various teahouses and open-air restaurants are dotted in between, creating an architectural space that can enjoy the exquisiteness of the artificial space environment and reflect the beauty of the natural scenery in the distance. The Red Building Square and the Organization Square are closely linked, while maintaining the inherent characteristics of the Red Building, it has injected new vitality into it. After completion, the public square will serve as another urban landscape pearl, echoing the adjacent natural pearl West Lake. It covers an area of 101 acres and has a total development scale of approximately 276,000 square meters.
